Shara Martell, BA, BED

Shara Martell has been teaching dance for 17 years and is trained in Hip-hop, Highland, Liturgical, Celtic, and Cape Breton stepdancing. She is an award-winning choreographer and performer and has conducted workshops locally, nationally and internationally in such places as Pennsylvania, Florida, California, Utah, Scotland and Taiwan. She has choreographed dance routines and instructed Celtic stepdance for La Swing du Suete dance troupe in Cheticamp, NS, and has appeared in the award-winning movie "Margaret's Museum" and the television series "The Pit Pony." She has performed with such acclaimed musicians as Ashley MacIsaac, Natalie McMaster, Rita MacNeil and the Barra McNeils. She is currently instructing classes in Cape Breton and Celtic Stepdance at the Loch Murray Dance school in Ottawa, ON. Shara holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Cape Breton as well as a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ottawa.
