COSTUMING
The main costume for Forrester Dance Company is the Cape Breton Tartan kilts, which they wear with pride. The other tartans used in their repertoire, such as the Nova Scotia Tartan, the Canadian Maple Leaf Tartan, and the Bicentennial Tartan, have strong historical significance and special meaning, which they always mention in their performances if time allows.
Their costuming and design is very creative, fresh, and beautiful to see on stage as it compliments the variety of dances performed. Eileen and Shannon have design input from the very beginning sketches, material selection and colours, to the final product you see on stage.
Their costumes consist of both traditional pieces and contemporary designs. The creativity and innovation of their dances is certainly accented by their unique and beautiful costuming, as you will see throughout our site.
